SCENE Academy is a not-for-profit creative platform dedicated to helping individuals build confidence, self-expression and creative skills through fashion, photography, styling and visual storytelling.
Our workshops bring together aspiring models, artists and creatives in a supportive environment where participants can explore their potential, develop practical industry skills and grow in confidence. By connecting creativity with personal development, SCENE helps individuals discover their voice and express their identity.
We are committed to making creative opportunities accessible beyond major cities, supporting young people and communities across Scotland — including rural areas — with inclusive workshops, mentorship and collaborative projects.
SCENE also champions ethical creativity and sustainability, encouraging participants to explore responsible fashion practices, textile reuse and mindful approaches to beauty and design.
Through creativity, collaboration and community, we aim to inspire a new generation of confident individuals ready to express themselves both on and off the runway.
Rural Access & Outreach – SCENE brings creative opportunities to towns such as Lanark and surrounding rural communities, ensuring that young people outside major cities can access professional-level workshops and creative development.
• Community Integration – Our programmes focus on confidence-building and self-expression, helping participants develop skills beyond fashion and photography, including public speaking, self-branding, collaboration and creative entrepreneurship.

Courses Offered
Patchwork, Sustainable Fashion & Climate Creativity
Our fashion workshops explore repair, reuse and sustainable design, helping participants rediscover the value of creativity in clothing. Through patchwork, sewing, textile reuse and design experimentation, students learn how to transform existing fabrics and garments into beautiful new pieces.
We encourage a mindset of slow fashion and climate-conscious creativity, reducing waste while developing practical skills and personal style. With guidance from mentors and industry professionals, participants gain confidence while creating fashion that tells a story.
Photography Workshops
Dive into the world of photography while learning how images can tell powerful stories about people, nature and creativity. Our workshops cover everything from camera basics and lighting techniques to composition and editing.
Participants explore how photography can capture identity, sustainability and artistic expression, producing visuals that reflect both personal narratives and wider social themes. Whether you are a beginner or building your portfolio, these sessions develop both technical skill and creative vision.
Style Mentorship & Creative Curation
Our style mentorship sessions help participants develop a unique visual identity and creative voice. Through styling exercises, wardrobe exploration and fashion storytelling, students learn how to curate looks that reflect personality and purpose.
The programme also encourages thoughtful wardrobe choices and creative reuse, exploring how clothing can be styled, repaired or repurposed rather than discarded. By understanding trends, textures and colour, participants build confidence in shaping their own aesthetic within a more sustainable and intentional fashion culture.
Make-Up Workshops & Understanding Colours
Our make-up workshops explore the art of colour, skin tones and creative expression. Participants learn how to select shades that complement different complexions, understand undertones and develop confidence in preparing for photoshoots and events.
Sessions also introduce natural beauty routines and mindful product choices, helping participants build a personal style while learning practical techniques used by professional artists.
Grown Your Own Remedies
This programme explores the connection between plants, wellbeing and everyday self-care. Participants learn how to grow herbs such as mint, chamomile, rosemary and lavender and discover their traditional uses in teas, natural remedies and gentle skincare routines.
By reconnecting with nature and learning simple growing skills, we encourage sustainable living, wellbeing and the rediscovery of plant-based knowledge that can be used at home.

We welcome aspiring creatives to apply for our programs. Our admission process is designed to support you in entering the world of fashion, fine art, photography and creativity, regardless of experience level. You are welcome to join in and hold workshops or register as someone who wants to learn, collaborate, network or simply build a portfolio.
Memberships are not automatic, there will be a vetting process and you may hear from us with additional questions.
